Computer Science is a new program for the 24-25 school year. There is a pilot introductory class being taught during the Spring semester of 23-24 at Machias Memorial High School.

The full course will be at Machias High School as well when it starts up in the fall. There will be a class from 8:30 to 10:30 for seniors and from 11:30 to 1:30 for juniors. The topics will be individualized to learner needs. Each topic is a prerequisite of the next, so before moving to another topic a student will need to have mastered the first.

The program will begin with artificial intelligence, mobile app development, coding, security, web design, etc and then move on to digital graphics, 3D graphics, virtual reality, game development, etc. This progression would take place over a two-year period. The program is at Machias Memorial High School.
