Bar Harbor Bank and Trust Scholarship
Is Firefighting for you?
Pretty much every municipal (paid) department is currently hiring and has immediate openings. The shortage is devastating. Many departments are trying to handle extrication with two people or fight fire with a minimal crew. The EMCC program is redesigning its curriculum to have sequential and stackable credentials. The first credential, a certificate, will prepare a student for hire in any career or on-call department. The second credential, the AAS, will be completed while a person was employed and will cover fire suppression systems and building inspections. The final credential in the sequence will be an Advanced certificate in leadership.
If you have questions, you can contact Christopher Easton, Ph.D. at Eastern Maine Community College, Fire Science Technology Program.
This scholarship is intended for local CTE Students. It is income based.
